I have this case for a week now and I'm loving how well it protects the GS3. It doesn't add much thickness to the phone, but it protects it very well.

There is another comparable dual layer case from Case Mate, but ACase beats it hands down. The main reason is this: When you take out the hard cover apart from the silicone skin, the silicone skin is about 0.5cm shorter than the hard cover for the ACase and this is a good thing because the silicone can stretch, so when you put in the phone, the silicone skin and the hard cover fits snuggly together. However, for the Case Mate, the 2 covers are about the same length, so after awhile, the edges would loosen up, and you will see some openings between the phone's edge and the cover. This was the problem with my older phone.

The only problem I see with this case is that the silicone skin tends to attract dirt easily. This is a problem with the material, and not a peculiar problem with ACase, Case Mate also has this problem for the Tough Case.

So if you are deciding between Case Mate and the ACase, get the ACase.

Acase Superleggera Pro Vs Otterbox Commuter Case

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent case (previously Otterbox Commuter user)July 19, 2012

I have been Otterbox Commuter case user for past 3 years with 2 other phones. This time I wanted to try this out after reading all reviews and considering this is half the price of the Otterbox case. I guess I didn't go wrong. The case is excellent and feels good in hands. The polycarbonate cover has a nice matte finish to it. It provides good grip and at the same time slides out of pocket very easily. One of the reasons I avoided Otterbox was the problem with hard to press power/volume buttons. This case definitely does not have that problem and buttons are fairly easy to press, but avoid accidental presses. This case does not come with a screen protector, but I bought one separately. I liked it that the USB and audio ports does not have rubber/silicone flaps (I found it to be more annoying than protection in my older otterbox cases).

5.0 out of 5 stars Very niceJuly 18, 2012

Just wanted a decent plain case for my new s3. I was originally looking at the otterbox line up when I stumbled on this case. It looks very similar in style that you first put the rubber boot on and then the hard plastic shell. It seems like a nice setup to protect the phone in case of a drop.

I like that the bezel wraps over the edge of the case so I when you lay it flat on the screen side the screen never touches the surface just the rubber surround.

buttons still work and feel good through the rubber.

Overall hard to beat for the price if you are looking for just a solid color case.

5.0 out of 5 stars Much Better than the Expensive Alternative!July 17, 2012

I started out with the OB Commuter for my Galaxy S3...horrible product (you can check my review on that product). Our family has 5 OB Commuter cases on other phones and they had been great, until now.

Anyway, the Acase version is very nice and useful. The case is very easy to install and remove, especially compared to the expensive competition. For the price, I can't think of any complaints whatsoever.

After cracking the screen on my first gen iPad two weeks after launch, I have been obsessive about making sure my mobile devices are protected. I put an otterbox defender on my replacement iPad and a commuter on both my iPhone 4 and Razr Maxx. I passed my iPhone down to my wife on the condition that I replace the bulky tater box commuter with something sleeker. I went with a speck candyshell for the iPhone, paying which cost me around $25 at the time. I just traded up to the Samsung GS3 and I just couldn't run it skinny good looks with another bulky otterbox. I decided to go with a speck candyshell for myself, which I ordered on Amazon for $32.00. Since the speck was back ordered, I also picked up this Acase as a temporary case since it was cheap ($12.00) and in stock. I was surprised when both cases arrived at the time. I was even more surprised when the bargain basement Acase was better looking, more protective and just as sleek as the speck!!! The quality of the polycarbonate hard layer and tpu soft layer are top notch and fit he device perfectly. I also like the eggshell finish on the hard shell that is less prone to scratches and fingerprints than the glossy speck case. Both the Speck and Acaase offer the same degree of flex and are equally hard (at least based on my non-scientific testing). The Acase has a slightly larger protective lip around the screen, which is an asset in my opinion. In the end, I am going to return he speck and keep the cheaper Acase. At half the price, it offers the same level of protection and looks better to boot!! It's a no brainer!!

I ordered this because it was PRIME eligible at the time and I needed something ASAP for my Galaxy S3; I didn't expect too much based on the price. I had a Tough Case on my iPhone 4 prior to this and really like it. The otterbox is too big for me, and I really like the rubber inner with plastic outer cover. I think that provides the most shock absorption.

This case is a quality product. The rubber fits snug and tight and the plastic snaps on perfectly. It doesn't add too much bulk and has a nice clean look to it. Access to all the ports is good, with plenty of room. I like the large opening on the back for camera and speaker...which means the flash or sound won't be affected at all. The only real difference between the case-mate version at the a-case is that the back on this one is very smooth, as opposed to the Tough Case which has a textured back. The phone itself is incredibly smooth and slippery, but eventhough this is smooth is as well, it still provides some good grip. Face up it'll slide on a table, but face down the rubber bezel will grab keep it in place.

I also like the idents at the top and bottom for the front speaker and home button (especially the home button). I tried the Ballistic case from AT&T ($50!) and the bottom bezel was so bulky it was a pain to hit the home button. I noticed on picture of the GS3 Tough Case, it does NOT have an indent and may cause the same problem.

Other than all that the price is awesome. I wish I could find a black/white version...maybe eventually. I also ordered a Case-Mate POP case...but may end up sending that back since I'm so impressed with this one.

EDIT: Just noticed Amazon is now carrying several colors....and at this price I can afford to get the white one without dropping another $35-$50
